A uniquely American form of medical practice arose in Missouri during the 19th century.  It was called osteopathy by its founder, Andrew Taylor Still, MD.


Given its focus upon holism and health, osteopathic medicine may provide a key to successful healthcare reform in the United States today, much as its founder intended when he first described its principles over one hundred years ago.


This programmed textbook offers a model for teaching osteopathic thought using a systematic approach.  It has been written for physicians, residents, and students wanting to integrate osteopathic principles and practices into clinical education.
