Pursuant First Assignment

Following the brutal murder of his neighbors, former CIA/Army operative Marion Kenway trades his quiet retirement for a high-stakes life inside the Pursuant, an ancient, international organization dedicated to protecting humanity from subterranean Meta creatures, alien portals, and hidden realities.

Indoctrinated through intense combat simulations and introduced to the vast secret history of Agartha, Kenway quickly learns the ropes of non-ballistic spring-rod weaponry and the complex taxonomy of shapeshifting monsters. Before he can even settle into his new life as an official Inspector, his communication device alerts him to his first official assignment.

Teaming up with the stern, by-the-book Inspector Blake Donovan, Kenway is dispatched to an abandoned, dark shopping mall where a newly opened portal has unleashed a pack of predatory, jackal-headed Cynos. Navigating claustrophobic corridors, broken glass, and shadow-draped storefronts, Kenway and Donovan must combine their tactical skill to eliminate the swift, aggressive pack and collapse the unstable portal. Blending gritty urban fantasy action, dry humor, and team dynamic, Pursuant: First Assignment marks Kenway's baptism by fire in a hidden world where he no longer has to hunt alone.
