Quest time
It’s time to take Seth out. Hathor is sent on a mission to recruit 4 gods to help in the battle of Seth.
Great read, not too long so you can definitely read on a rainy afternoon. At the end of Book 1, there is a revelation that might be true, but maybe it’s not.
Come along and let’s see how it all plays out.

Hathor Book 1 Trilogy
What an interesting story! Hathor debuts with a coerced task from Ma’at. It seems to be Ma’at status quo for securing allegiance with other gods. We learn the behind the scenes into her thoughts and what her feelings bout some of the aspects she embodies. Very interesting. Her mission to secure four gods to Team Ma’at had led to one major plot twist. The fact that Hathor is starting to feel affection and not just lust with Amun proves quite a dilemma when she learns something about her crush.

The search for consorts
Hathor has gotten bored although she’s loath to admit it. Since people have stopped believing in the gods she’s had not much to do, this changes one day when Ma’at comes to her part of the temple complex and asks for a favor. Seth is plotting again and Ma’at asks Hathor to bring her consorts into the fold. Hathor is irritated and intrigued in likely equal measure. As none of the four gods has ever truly been her consort just something that people assumed of them. Nonetheless she’s sets off on her reluctant mission to find Horus, Khonsu, Atum and Amun. Soon after she starts one of her temple is desecrated by Seth and so her reluctance turns to resolve. Seth must be stopped for the good of all and so she finds these men and sets on bringing them in.
Fictionalized history with a hint of romance. I loved the first part of this trilogy about Hathor and her not consorts. This ends on a cliffhanger as it is book one of three and it’s a bit heartbreaking and infuriating for Hathor. As a huge fan of anything that involves Ancient Egypt be it fiction or non fiction this book was a winner for me. Even if you’re not necessarily into the topic the plotting and nuances of the characters makes for a fascinating story and this is just the beginning. I am eager to see what is next in Hathor’s story.
I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest review.
