Publisher Description
This #1 New York Times bestseller is a highly addicting enemies-to-lovers Romantasy with razor-sharp banter, heart-stopping action, and blistering hot romance.
Do not touch the sword. Do not turn the key. Do not open the gate.
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses, or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen’s reservoirs for as long as she can remember. In the land of the unforgiving desert, there isn’t much a girl wouldn’t do for a glass of water. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone.
When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares…but it turns out they’re real, and Saeris has landed right in the middle of a centuries-long conflict that might just get her killed.
The first of her kind to tread the frozen mountains of Yvelia in over a thousand years, Saeris mistakenly binds herself to Kingfisher, a handsome Fae warrior, who has secrets and nefarious agendas of his own. He will use her Alchemist’s magic to protect his people, no matter what it costs him… or her. Death has a name. It is Kingfisher of the Ajun Gate. His past is murky. His attitude stinks. And he’s the only way Saeris is going to make it home.
Be careful of the deals you make, dear child. The devil is in the details... Now with an embossed cover, silver foiling, and an updated interior design.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
This romantasy epic explores how two clashing personalities, forced to work together, might become friends—or more—even within the stress of their dire situation. Saeris lives in the desperately poor zone of a caste society in a desert hellscape, stealing scrap metal to help her kid brother survive. But when one of her criminal exploits unravels, she finds herself stuck in a mystical alternate world where she must work with volatile warrior Kingfisher to get back home and save her family. Callie Hart’s plot is stacked with food for thought, as the thieving Saeris and ominously secretive Kingfisher operate in intriguing moral gray areas. And despite the fantastical world of alchemy and magic in Quicksilver, the hot-and-cold dynamic between the two leads feels eminently realistic as they trade witty barbs. For a fantasy world that knits together oh-so-human sentiments about family, romantic uncertainty, and isolation, check out Quicksilver.
Customer Reviews
Quicksilver is basically a weird, slimy, emotional hug I DID NOT see coming
A darkly charming story full of grotesque magic, unexpected softness, and one of the most lovable chaotic men ever written. The moment he tells Saeirs he’s about to “introduce her to the seven gods” lives rent-free in my mind. I wasn’t ready. NO ONE is ready. The level of dark, confident energy Devastating. Completely illegal. Bless Kingfisher for that moment.
And Carrion… listen. I LOVE that adorable disaster. He’s funny without trying, brave without meaning to be, and unintentionally soft in the best way. Carrion owns my whole heart, accidentally.
Gets better around 70% through
Not very good in the first half but gets better. Sticks with you.
So good…
