Potential
The story line concept was good and the characters have potential to draw interest in reading the additional books. However, the threat was weak. For the amount of talk about the operation that had been growing, the total number of ops to take down was small. The conflict resolved very quickly with seemingly no real effort or loss on the main characters side. The development of the love story was fast and shallow. Also, the amount of repeated lines, literally verbatim, back to back was boring and felt like filler to make the book longer. With more research into military/combat, that could add much need substance. Also, digging further into Val’s life before could add depth to her character. Two weeks at the compound and no interaction with the other woman or brothers. Only got a glimpse of Rosa’s character. Overall the book seems like the start or summary of a great story.
