Maud Connor looked at the damp map in her hands and felt ambivalent.
She walked over to the window and reflected on her deprived surroundings. She had always loved deserted San Francisco with its immense, ill igloos. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel ambivalent.
Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Christiana Raymond. Christiana was a patient knight with charming arms and charming spots.
