Four Veruvian Cycles earlier, Alexandra Petrov found herself going to a small InterGalatic Community planet, where a small village was established. She really wasn’t suppose to be there, as she already had her turn for being out of the ship. Her friend Mila was about to have a baby and she went with her for support.

Alex parents were abusive towards her, but her friend Mila felt that Alex would always be strong and able to help raise a child. But times were not safe as the sescurei’s had found the village and to save those that were trying to escape Alex tries to lead them away. The sescurei were known for their cruelty, torture, slavery and murder of those they captured.

As Alex tries to protect the children among the captured she meets an older man, David. David and Alex become friends but they find themselves placed on the auction block. With the fear of the unknown Alex prepares herself for the worst possible situation. But she finds herself being at the hands of the elite mrogg and David is also by her side. Once upon the Nebula they come face to face with Mastrodai. He makes them very aware that they are not slaves but his employees and life is different from what they thought.

Four Vervain Cycles later, Leo aka Voidstriker has now been brought upon the Nebula. Leo doesn’t understand Mastrodai yet. Mastrodai has asked Alex to try and make him understand. Alex immediately has an attraction to Leo and it seems it may be the same for him. But as difficult as it is Alex will try and look at the situation as helping two friends.

Mastrodai is getting ready to release all his employees and give them the freedom on Lex or other planets of their choosing. Alex will also be given the chance to visit her planet, friends and family. But Mastrodai is not comfortable with the situation. He is now feeling like an outsider. Leo, Mastrodai and Alex will all face hostilities, as they hope for a better future will it all turn out to be a mistake.

M.D. Grimm brings Alex to the forefront with “Resistance” the third book in “Saga of The Bold People” series. Alex tells her story about how she came involved with now both Leo and Mastrodai. The continuation of the series still has very vivid descriptions of world building and all the sci-fi gadgets, weapons and ships and vivid descriptions of all the settings. There’s still explanations of the different species which include humans, the dialects spoken, and defined genders. As with the first two books, “Leopold” and “Legacy” there are more that enough characters that are entertaining.

I was only disappointed because I really didn’t grasp why Alex had to be brought into the Leo and Mastrodai relationship. I liked what Leo and Mastrodai had built in their relationship, they fought hard for each other when things became really bad. I felt like Alex and Mastrodai were trying to please Leo with the physical connection, to the point I felt like Leo was using them.

I know for sure I really liked the first book “Leopold” the best. The second book “Legacy” was good, it didn’t have as much action, but had danger and it’s the start of change when Alex becomes part of Leo and Mastrodai’s relationship. I’m surprised “Resistance” hasn’t had more reviews, as I would really like to see more opinions about this novel.
