Publisher Description
High school teacher Grace Thompson didn’t want to be a mentor. And she sure as hell didn’t want to mentor Levi Mondez.
They got off to a rocky start, but it wasn’t entirely her fault. How was she to know he was the lead singer of local rock band, Mondez? How was she to know he considered her short temper a turn on? And how was she to know her best friend, Riley, would fall for him?
If he wasn’t so damn gorgeous it might have made the whole mess easier to handle. If he didn’t transform Grace into a blazing furnace of need, and if he hadn’t confused the hell out of her already bruised heart, life might have turned out a heck of a lot differently. She was screwed.

Good start to a new series!
Good start to a new series. I love a rock star romance and this had a great vibe to it. The story is based in Australia, so it adds a fun twist to it.
The heroine is smart mouthed, snarky and angry. She is missing her beloved father after he passes away. Her mother isn’t in the picture, as she left her family when Grace was young for another man. Her sister is a piece of work, so Grace has one childhood friend that is more like a sister to her, Riley. Grace had a long-term relationship then he breaks up with her by text, the coward. There is a twist here that you will have to read about in the book to find out. Grace just spends her time at work and home and Riley is fed up, so she drags her friend to a local bar to hear an up and coming local band that Riley loves, Mondez.
Levi is a great guy and he is the very talented front man and lead guitarist for his band Mondez. Did I mention he is gorgeous and charismatic? His band consists of his brother, himself and his two cousins. They are very talented and want nothing more than to take the band to the next level. When Levi approaches Riley and her gorgeous friend, all he wants is to take Grace home. When introduced, Levi applies the charm, but Grace wasn’t having it. She was snarky and Levi loved her smart mouth. Grace was intrigued but then she discovered her friend had a crush on Levi. There was no way she was going there.
There is a lot that goes on after this first encounter that Grace tries to control, but the connection between Levi and Grace is too strong to deny. Their paths cross again and Grace feels nothing but guilt for her feelings for Levi and Levi tries to convince Grace that Riley doesn’t have feelings for him. There is a lot of push and pull between the characters. I was really able to see how Grace became so bitter and angry as the book gives you flashbacks into her life.
The secondary characters are fun and there was good character development. I look forward to the next book in this series.
