The huntress becomes the hunted.
Charlotte MacQueen is tired of being told what to do. Stay in school. Don’t hunt dragons. Don’t have sex. Blah, blah, blah. Her overbearing brothers mean well, but they are seriously killing her social life. Life as chemist is about as exciting as watching water boil, so for one night, Charlotte is going to walk on the wild side. And to top it off, she’s going to bag her own dragon and show her brothers once and for all she’s more than their baby sister. She just never expected to fall for a dragon.
The player gets played.
Rurik Barinov his days are spent defending his family’s homeland from rival dragon clans. The last thing he wanted was love…until she walked in the club— living, breathing sex poured into a tight, red dress. With one kiss, and one look into her vulnerable eyes, he’s lost. Now his impenetrable heart has been, well, penetrated, making him vulnerable. And the worst part? She’s the little sister to his sworn enemies.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
For the invigorating third Brothers of Ash and Fire paranormal (after Mikhail), Smith turns her attention to Rurik, the youngest of the three Barinov brothers, who, as their designated battle dragon and family protector, has sworn to never claim a mate. His plans are thrown into disarray when he meets biochemist Charlotte MacQueen, who's supposedly in Moscow on holiday. What he doesn't realize is that she's on an unsanctioned mission for the Brotherhood of the Blood Moon, the paranormal hunting organization run by her family, and she has every intention of pumping Rurik for information to help stop an imminent war among the dragon families of Russia. But the two discover an unexpected connection that swiftly ignites into a full-fledged mating between them much to the dismay of their respective families, who are being manipulated into conflict by mutual enemies. Now they must find a way to preserve their relationship and their loved ones. Right from the start, this story is clever, sexy, and just a little dangerous, with a sense of fun and solid worldbuilding. Though part of a series, it still works as a standalone, offering up a satisfying, pleasurable romance. (BookLife)

A Magical Read
Can a fierce dragon shifter and a woman close to the Brotherhood who hunts them ever attract? Not usually but in this paranormal story filled with suspense, conflicted emotions and intense feelings, it is possible. Rurik, the protector of his family of dragon shifters, is also the strongest and fiercest in battle. Charlotte McQueen, sister of the Brotherhood leader, travels to Russia to prove to her brothers she deserves to be one of them. Meeting up with Rurik, turns her upside down because of the intense attraction which quickly spirals out of control. There are many forces at work in this story and it will keep you turning the pages to see what the outcome will be. Lauren Smith takes you through this third book in the Brothers of Ash and Fire series as only she can do... With great characters and descriptions that take you into another world! This book was gifted to me
Okay read
Cute story. I did struggle to connect with the characters. Charlotte was a bit immature. So intelligent and yet she behaved like a juvenile. Her brothers are very over protective. Instead of demanding the respect she deserved, she runs off to Russia. Alone. To try and capture a dragon. Putting everyone in danger. Such a silly story. It was like fantasy land. Also, the author really didn’t tie up the story for me. I was a little disappointed in that.
Ooh la la this one is good and hot
Rurik Barinov is a rich club who also happens to be a dragon shifter. Charlotte MacQueen is a biochemist who also happens to be the baby sister of the head of the “Brotherhood” a secret organization of supernatural hunters. Just to be clear not a lot of trust exists between dragon shifters and the Brotherhood. When Rurik and Charlotte meet sparks fly. I really enjoy the Romeo and Juliet story line. I’m more of a historical romance reader but I love this series. This is a stand alone novel so you do not have to have read Grigori or Mikhail’s books. I’m a fan of Lauren Smith. I really enjoy how she writes her characters. Her characters actually communicate so time is not wasted on misunderstandings between the main characters. I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review.
