There’s only so many books that capture my attention like this one has. Was not entirely sure what to expect going into this one but can only say that it felt like a real life event. The story doesn’t take too long to get going introducing you to its main protagonist and fellow companions. What really surprised me was the conflict. Nothing is as simple as it seems. There are levels to the complexity between the two lovers of the story and with some thought you will either be okay with the ending or utterly hate it. I personally think it was difficult to read but easy to comprehend why characters did what they did and not quite out of place than what it seems. All that to say that this book was good. It’s a short read and though it may not have a “happy ending” it definitely leaves you with something to think about at the end. And if you like that then you will like this book.

Unexpected romance story from Mischner. Heart felt, wonderfully written. Would have loved an epilogue though.
