Bound by fate to the man she's sworn to defy.
Revered for her magical ability, Naya is the most treasured omega in her parent’s empire. Her birth heralded an era of peace, and her people eagerly anticipate the day she will ascend to the throne.
But finding her true mate is key to her successful rule. And no matter how hard she searches, Naya can’t find the one who ignites the profound attraction her alpha is destined to arouse.
Then one night, she is stolen.
Akoro, an alpha motivated by vengeance and violence, takes her to a distant land where her powers are useless.
A cold-hearted king, he reveals the full extent of his cruelty, but despite his overbearing nature and growing fixation with her, he demands she help him conquer her empire.
Naya refuses, and vows to safeguard her people from this savage beast.
But then Akoro awakens the primal craving she’s been desperate to find. The one that confirms that he is her true mate.
BEWARE: This story is only for those who love a cruel, overbearing, jealous hero who wasn’t expecting to find a woman so perfect who is his mate. Please see author website for full warnings.
Customer Reviews
I've been longing to dive back into her stories!
Zoey’s omegaverse series stands out as the pinnacle of this trope. After taking a hiatus, I am now returning to her newest addition to the series and it has reignited my excitement for this genre! The dynamics between Naya and Akoro are captivating, especially during the moments when tension mounts in anticipation of her acts of rebellion and escape. The combination of Naya’s anguish, Akoro’s fury and erotic tension is what keeps addicted to this series. Zoey Ellis is top tier! 👌
Cliffhanger!!!
But when I say the cliffhanger has u ready for the next book and it’s not out yet!!! 😰
Has potential
Was excited to see another book in this series. And this was pretty good. The author writes more from the female lead perspective and I wish we had a little more of what’s going on in the Alphas mind. The little that is described makes him look like a big dumb jock not a great leader. I’d say that has been my only disappointment with this book and the others in the series. This H came across as very one dimensional and rather unthinking. I like my H to be smart. DROCCO was the same in the first books - until closer to the end of series. Would like to hear some inner dialogue of the H -some pangs of guilt or doubt at his treatment of the h and question his own path - so he was more dimensional , growing and less flat. It seems pretty dumb for him to not even consider an alliance even if he decides against it. Or give any thought to that he’s planning to kill the grandfather of his future children. That’s what stops me from considering these books to be A’s rather than B books. Dumb H’s.
I did love the h in this story - she is feisty and strong and isn’t going to give up. Similar to all this author’s other heroines. Hope the H changes in the next book. The H needs an arc where he learns something, becomes conflicted, doubt himself, grows up etc.
I think the best scene in this one was the haze scene and the H gets angry talking and she can’t understand him and she kisses him and HE settles. Assuming he’s mad about possibly another alpha having been with her. That seemed the only scene of real chemistry and connection for these two. It was unique and sweet.
That said - I still recommend the book - it’s a fun fast read. Omegaverse is a newish thing for me and a lot out there is way too dark and ugly. This author gets the balance right for my tastes. I really enjoyed Crave to Conquer and and the Reign books - though had similar criticisms with them with the dumb jock type H. But I do like this author in general. I can’t recommend the Own to Obey books though - sorry Zoey - that H was the dumbest non thinking character.
The authors Dragon books are worth a read as well.
I still rate this book high because it’s a fun fast read. I’d start with the Crave to C and the Reign books but it’s not necessary - They are solid- this author seems to be coming into her own and getting better all the time. Hoping for this series to get richer in the next book.
