Publisher Description
At about 2 a.m. on October 12, 1961, Jack Schroeder was driving his automobile in an easterly direction on U.S. Highway No. 10 near Seattle. He had just crossed the floating bridge when a blowout occurred in the left front tire of his automobile. He stopped in the righthand outside lane of the highway. The roadway was well lighted, and it was raining. A divider strip separated the two eastbound lanes from the two westbound lanes. There was a safety island off the traveled portion of the highway, near the place where Mr. Schroeder brought his automobile to a stop.
