Seven Days in Utopia

I was having a bad day on the golf course with a friend. He’s a much better golf player than I will ever be. I had complained about my poor performance and was thinking about finding out about switching to pickle ball or fishing. He asked if I had ever read any thing that changed my view point. I told him off-handedly only obituaries and how to train a retriever back in the day. He recommended Seven Day and offered me his dog eared, heavily annotated paper back copy to read. I wrote down the title and author and instead ordered my own copy. I started reading it on a cold rainy morning and could not wait to make my way through the pages. I enjoyed the different ways the author related the lessons taught in this book. The best part, I find myself smiling and less tired after playing my causal rounds of golf. I’m more attuned to the feels of the golfers sharing the round. I now know why to celebrate their skillful accomplishments during the hours shared. If you are a low handicapper or haven’t broken 100, this life guide is a must read and read again! Buy the paper back copy, put a note in the front, “enjoy and pass it to the next person you play golf with” and buy the digital book too it’s easy to bookmark, highlight and copy a sentence or two to share with family and friends reading the book. Next, I’m downloading the audio version to listen to.

I was given this book and it set on the shelf. When I finally read it, it was the most impactful book I have ever read. The golf was great, but the significance of the story was life changing. Don’t sleep on this one.
