The holidays are here, and this year, they're deadly…
It's my first Thanksgiving back in Moonshadow Bay, and everything is hunky-dory until the Witches Guild assigns me a research project for the upcoming Winter Solstice Festival. Not only do I melt down my computer, but I download a demon who ends up stuck in my house.
But Tarvish the Funtime demon is the least of my worries when my grandmother asks my BFF and me to go undercover. A magical pyramid scheme has moved into town and it's siphoning more than money off its recruits. Will we be able to take it down, or will the leader of the cult manage to silence us for good?

Another Stellar Installment
January's back and her plate is pretty full. In this fifth installment in the Moonshadow Bay series, we see her struggling to really cement her place in the magical community. So many people are asking for chunks of her time, and although she's ready and willing to be an active community member, she finds herself overwhelmed on more than a few occasions. I loved watching her come into her own, recognizing that her value isn't solely dependent on how much of herself she gives to others.
One of the most delightful parts of the plot has to do with a demon January unwittingly allows into her home. I don't want to give too much away, but I absolutely loved what the author decided to do with this particular character. Everything about him was original, and he added an extra layer to my overall enjoyment of this book. I'm hoping we'll see more of him as the series progresses.
As if a wayward demon isn't enough, January and Ari are tasked with investigating a magical pyramid scheme that has recently been reported to the magical authorities. I love a good undercover plot, and this one didn't disappoint me. There was a real sense of danger, but nothing about it was too over the top. The way magic was used felt utterly authentic, and I was on the edge of my seat as I waited for the resolution.
January's relationship with Killian really hits its stride here. We witness their deepening feelings for one another both in and out of the bedroom. The intimate scenes are sexy without feeling forced. Watching them explore all aspects of their relationship was a truly joyous experience.
Whenever I read a Moonshadow Bay book, I convince myself that the one I've just finished is the best in the series, but then, a new one is released and it almost instantly becomes my favorite. Shadow Web is no exception, and I can't wait to see what Ms. Galenorn has in store for January, Killian, and the rest of the gang.
Disappointed
Not Yasmine’s best by far. 90% is garbage.
