In the rugged Clancy Mountain wilderness, split-second survival is a lesson Tanner Shepherd lives by every day. As founder of Shepherd's Watch Search & Rescue, he knows the terrain better than anyone, but keeping an impulsive teenage family friend safe from her own reckless choices might be his toughest mission yet.

When a search for a stalker's victim in the Blue Ridge turns deadly, a team member vanishes into thin air, leaving behind only a riderless horse and unanswered questions. With a human predator on the loose and a storm closing in, the race against time becomes a brutal fight for survival. The Shepherd's Watch team faces a harrowing reality: they'll have to pull off a second rescue before the mountain claims one of their own.
