Publisher Description
Sherman’s Lagoon is an imaginary lagoon somewhere in the tropics, inhabited by a cast of sea creatures whose lives are curiously similar to our own. Through his comic strip, cartoonist Jim Toomey explores many of the issues that we face daily in our world on dry land. By putting them in a different context, he helps us laugh at ourselves. His characters attempt new business ventures, go on disastrous dates, try fad diets and read the latest best-selling books. But, they also have problems that are unique to fish. Should you bring shrimp to the holiday party? Will shrimp be there?
Customer Reviews
Short but great
This is a 17-page min-collection of Sherman's Lagoon, with 30 individual strips (4 are Sunday color). It is an excellent "starter" book for those not very familiar with this very funny strip. Sherman has been my favorite comic since the early 2000's and the only strip I have purchased every book for since Calvin & Hobbes. It is well worth the .99, even for someone like me who already owns the paperback collection.
Again - this is NOT a complete book. All the other comic strip collections are priced at $9.99 because they are complete books. As long as you know that going in, you will be very satisfied with the .99 price point.
