Customer Reviews
This is not a children's book.
The category iTunes has this under is children's literature but it couldn't be further from that. Roald Dahl was an epic storyteller. He delighted me as a child and challenged me as an adult. This collection of short stories is engaging, eloquent and undeniably enticing. He weaves unforeseen endings from the brilliance of his words. My favorite story, The Sound Machine, has ushered in new thoughts and ideas about science, yes, SCIENCE! I recommend this book because a) it is a collection of short, easy to read stories so there isn't a need to stay up all night to find a stopping place. b) this book will change the way you look at Roald Dahl and possibly his other, more youth appropriate novels and c) he provides excellent conversation starters, fillers and closers with delightful, and sometimes eery, stories perfect for a party, at a bar or even on a date.
