Harriet Cockle was thinking about Suki Chen again. Suki was a considerate animal with ugly feet and sloppy toes.
Harriet walked over to the window and reflected on her urban surroundings. She had always loved snooty Exeter with its jolly, jealous jungle. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel surprised.
