Snowman, 16th reader, and the next four readers are more interesting as there is more to a plot. With less emphasis on word recognition, the child is now in the delightful stage where he is able to hear the story as he reads it. He can read between one hundred and fifty to two hundred and fifty words. It is now easier to read words because each word is no longer a new word for the reader. The child is now reading well into first grade reading material.
