T.P., 2nd reader, increases the child’s recognition of new letters and words. The verb “go” is introduced and used along with the verb “see.” Verbs are restricted in the first readers as are adjectives and adverbs. The sentence structure is kept simple to create a successful experience for the young reader. There is also a new character being introduced named Kay. The numbers at the bottom of the pages familiarize the child with reading numbers. The reading of numbers is a necessary step in learning arithmetic. Both the Roman and Arabic numerals are used for page numbers.
I don’t know why these books aren’t more popular
My dad taught me to read when I was 2 years old with these books in 1978. I have been a lifelong lover of books and it all started here. I just found the books online and immediately bought them for my 6 yr old son with autism. He has never read anything. Within 15 minutes he had read me the first book. In another 30 mins, he read me the 2nd. I HIGHLY recommend.
