Publisher Description
Three estranged sisters struggle to sustain their late father’s failing hockey franchise in Kate Meader’s sizzling Chicago Rebels series. In this second entry, middle sister Isobel is at a crossroads in her personal and professional lives. But both are about to get a significant boost with the addition of a domineering Russian powerhouse to the Rebels...
Isobel Chase knows hockey. She played NCAA, won silver at the Games, and made it thirty-seven minutes into the new National Women’s Hockey League before an injury sidelined her dreams. Those who can’t, coach, and a position as a skating consultant to her late father’s hockey franchise, the Chicago Rebels, seems like a perfect fit. Until she’s assigned her first job: the man who skated into her heart as a teen and relieved her of her pesky virginity. These days, left-winger Vadim Petrov is known as the Czar of Pleasure, a magnet for puck bunnies and the tabloids alike. But back then... let’s just say his inability to sink the puck left Isobel frustratingly scoreless.
Vadim has a first name that means “ruler,” and it doesn’t stop at his birth certificate. He dominates on the ice, the practice rink, and in the backseat of a limo. But a knee injury has produced a bad year, and bad years in the NHL don’t go unrewarded. His penance? To be traded to a troubled team where his personal coach is Isobel Chase, the woman who drove him wild years ago when they were hormonal teens. But apparently the feeling was not entirely mutual.
That Vadim might have failed to give Isobel the pleasure that was her right is intolerable, and he plans to make it up to her—one bone-melting orgasm at a time. After all, no player can perfect his game without a helluva lot of practice...
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Meader serves up a delicious mix of sports, sexy romance, and complicated, captivating characters with her second Chicago Rebels hockey contemporary (after Irresistible You). Hockey has always been Isobel Chase's life, first as the daughter of Clifford Chase the late hockey legend, Rebels owner, and all-around jerk and then in her own right, though her career ended with a skate blade to the skull in her first professional game. Now she's running the Rebels with her sisters and trying to avoid her team's newest recruit, Vadim Petrov. Isobel has a checkered past with the gorgeous, brooding Russian. Her father blackballed him from the NHL to keep him away from Isobel, and Vadim still resents it. Isobel also still remembers her first sexual experience, in which Vadim failed to satisfy her. As they reconnect, he vows to do better this time around. Meader's erotic scenes could melt ice, and her complex protagonists will keep readers eagerly turning pages.

Love this series
Highly recommend. The sister relationships are wonderful. And the friendships on the team and great.
LOVED LOVED LOVED It!!!
I missed the first book in this series but Isobel and Vadim's story is an awesome introduction for me to these characters.
Vadim, the Czar of Pleasure, has been traded to the Chicago Rebels but a previous knee injury means that he needs to work with a consultant to be ready to get back on the ice. The consultant he's been assigned to is the girl who drove him crazy and nearly ended his dreams of being in the NHL. Vadim has very different memories of the one time he and Isobel were together and when he finds out that he left her unsatisfied, he becomes determined to right the wrongs of his past.
I absolutely loved these two characters. I loved the dual POV and couldn't get enough of getting into the heads of both Vadim and Isobel. They're witty, funny, independent, strong, and stubborn. Their passion burned bright and from the very first interaction they had, I wanted them to be together forever and always. I fell in love with the banter and connection between all of the characters. I can't wait to go back and read books 0.5 and 1 and see what's up next for the Rebels.

Fun, flirty and sexy
This is the second book in the Chicago Rebels series. Each story is a standalone although the characters are interconnected. Isobel Chase, along with her two estranged stepsisters, inherited the Chicago Rebels hockey team. The three sisters are working hard to fulfill all the requirements of their father's will. As the sisters spend time together, they slowly developed a friendship and learn to trust each other. Isobel was a hockey player in a women's league and ready for great things, until an injury sidelined her. Now, as one of the the owners of the team, she is working as a coaching consultant. Isobel and her sisters are trying to fight sexist opinions about women owning a hockey team. Isobel would love to one day become the team’s coach but she knows many people would be opposed to a woman coaching a men’s professional hockey team.
Vadim Petrov is the newest player acquired by the Rebels. He and Isobel had a past, although they haven't seen each other in years. Vadim is recovering from a knee injury and isobel is coaching him through it. Neither of them want to admit they still feel the sparks they felt years ago. They are both stubborn and too proud to admit they care. So instead, they argue and fight. Isobel knows getting involved with one of her players would only hurt her reputation.
This story is full of emotion yet it is also fun, flirty and sexy. I liked Isobel and Vadim. I found it easy to relate to them and wanted them to find a way to be together. There are also engaging secondary and I hope to see them in future stories.
