Publisher Description

I want to.

I can’t.

I’ve been friends with Cooper Rice from the moment we met. He was just as famous a decade ago on our college campus as he is now being the star quarterback for the Chicago Grizzlies.

But he’s not only talented on the field, he’s also the gorgeous football star women fawn over, posing in underwear and razor ads.

Here’s a secret those women don’t know—Cooper Rice isn’t a playboy. He’s the kind of man who wants to settle down with a family. He’s content ordering pizza and massaging my feet after my long shift as an emergency room doctor. He listens to me as if he’s as invested as I am in my patients. He has never let me down.

This is exactly why I refuse to live without Cooper in my life. Eight years ago, I made him promise me that we’d never cross that line. And just like I knew Cooper would, he’s held to that promise.

Despite our best efforts, our relationship is evolving, shifting into new territory and I find myself unsure if I want Cooper to keep that promise. Ignoring the obvious could tear us apart, but so could giving in, meaning there’s a chance I’ll lose Cooper forever no matter what decision I make.

Great story!

Something Like Love was the final installment in the Chicago Grizzlies series. I really enjoyed this friends to lovers, sports romance.

Cooper and Ellery’s chemistry was palpable from first meet, unfortunately outside influences kept them in the friend zone. For years, they kept their relationship platonic, but despite their best efforts, their dynamic shifted. The drama and storyline was entertaining and fun. I enjoyed the banter and push/pull between them.

Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder did a really great job portraying these characters.

Finally!

4.5⭐️ rounded up to 5. What can I say about Ellery and Cooper? Ellery was an ER doctor and Cooper was the quarterback for the Chicago Grizzlies. The two had been best friends since college, when they agreed that they would remain just friends so that they wouldn’t risk losing each other from a failed romantic relationship. Everyone knew that they were more than friends but them. I think deep down they each acknowledged that they were in love, but everything came to a head when Ellery tried dating another Chicago Grizzly. She couldn’t manage any real interest and Cooper couldn’t stand seeing her with him. I was disappointed at how quickly these two, who had been best friends for a decade failed to communicate openly with each other. In the end, they got their act together and that is what really mattered in the long run. This book has all the elements of a Piper Rayne romcom: a friends to lovers, only one bed, a cast of friends to contribute wisecracks and general comedic elements, a whole lot of feelings, a challenge to overcome, and a happy ending. I recommend this book to readers who love contemporary romcoms. I am voluntarily writing this honest review after reading an advanced complementary copy thanks to Valentine PR and Piper Rayne.

Best couple awards goes to these bffs

As far as I’m concerned, Cooper and Ellery are the best couple of this series, and their story was so worth waiting for! Friends to lovers is always my go-to, most loved trope, and when written by Piper Rayne, I know I’m going to love it.
A decade is a long time to ignore romantic feelings for your best friend, but Cooper and Ellery have floated down that river of denial together, but separate. It only takes a new, too close for comfort partner to bring all those buried feelings closer to the surface.
No spoilers here, but I think fans who have been waiting for these two to just get on with it will be very happy…obviously not just at the outcome, but the journey as well. I’m sorry to see the series end, but these six friends, and especially Cooper and Ellery, got the finale the deserved.
