Interesting Read
ThIs book delivers a story about a young girl in Germany during WWII. I found Sonja's life events engaging to read about and wonder how I would have responded in similar situations. The pictures helped me connect to the people and the story. I can imagine it would be hard to know how to end such a story because it focused on her time in the war. The ending left me wanting. What happened to Mutti? Did Sonja find true love after all? I suppose life isn't a fairytale where we live happily ever after, but wish Sonja had more happiness in her life after so much pain.
