It is said that this mysterious book contains details of methods that threaten the land of Yoitsu itself. But in trying to get his hands on the book, Lawrence, who must return to the marketplace, finds himself running out of time to head for Yoitsu with Holo...Pressed into making a decision he may ultimately come to regret, which option will Lawrence choose?!

Finally - the crossroads
For those who have been following the saga of the merchant and the wise wolf, a question that’s been hovering over the pair will be answered in the town of Lenos. Where and when will Holo and Lawrence choose to go their separate ways? How will they part?
Several things have come together. They have finally found a map to Holo’s homeland of Yoitsu. They are preparing for their journey. But…
An encounter with someone from their previous adventures turns up, along with a companion also seeking something in the north. Lawrence is offered a deal too good to pass up, and one that could give him and Holo an excuse to part on good terms - or as good as a reasonable merchant might hope.
But their old friend reveals something of their own dilemma, and it mirrors Lawrence’s own contradictions. Confronted by it, Lawrence is forced to face up to his choices, their consequences, and an old question: what is Holo to him, the merchant - and he to Holo, the wise wolf?
Very engaging
I’ve read all the other books before this one in this series so far, and have never once regretted buying the next volume immediately after finishing a volume. This volume is no exception and I truly enjoyed every scene written here! The author is very good at keeping the reader (me) engaged and thinking as much as Lawrence. It’s certainly not “cheesy” in its romance — which is also the case in the other volumes I’ve read up to this point — it’s very well thought out and fun to follow along. Between the meaningful experiences of Lawrence and Holo is a great deal adventure and, at times, suspense! I definitely recommend this book.
