Must read for startup founders
I am a founder looking to build my first startup and the ebook came in very handy. It gives valuable insight into the startup and venture capital world, stock options, 83(b) filing, valuations and convertible securities by giving detailed examples. I really liked how the author has explained most terms in simple language.
One thing I would have really liked if the author could have put more details about the term sheet especially explaining its different aspects like anti-dilution, protective provisions etc.
I highly recommend to people starting their own first company and also to employees at startups.
Insightful guide with wide range of information
It is a very insightful guide packed with a wide range of topics ranging from startup funding, cap table, pre-money and post-money valuations, 409A etc.
My favorite section is the "Stock Options" chapter where the author details about Founder Stock, Restricted Stock, RSUs, Cliff vesting, Early exercise and other pertinent issues encountered in a startup by entrepreneurs and employees.
A good reference book for entrepreneurs venturing into their own business
Absolutely recommended whether you are an entrepreneur or an employee if you want to learn more about startup financing, raise a round, or just make sure you are making the right decisions regarding your stock options. In addition to topics such as cap table stock options, it even delves into 83(b), JOBS act and Dodd Frank Act.
