James "Iceman" Bracelyn is wound tighter than a vintage Rolex. Besides his CEO role at Ponderosa Resort, he's guardian of the family's biggest secrets, including a doozy that keeps him up at night. Alone. In that big bed he'd rather not share, thank you very much.
That's fine with Lily Archer, who likes her flings flaming hot and fleeting. Her man-eater rep might be slightly exaggerated, but she'll gladly dial it up to rescue James from himself—and a bottle of Glenlivit—at his brother's wedding.
Intimacy's the last thing either one wants, but it's tough to dodge when they're drawn together by the world's drooliest dog, a TPing escapade gone wrong, and a good old-fashioned desktop hookup. That's problematic for James, whose ability to hide the family's riskiest secret is complicated by the secret's refusal to get the hell out of his guest room.
Can Iceman keep his frigid shell intact while falling for the hottest science geek sex goddess he's ever met, or will the ticking time bomb blow it all to smithereens?

I’ve enjoyed all of the Ponderosa Resort books, but I have to say that this may be my favorite so far. James the “Iceman” Bracelyn earned his nickname in the courtroom and will dealing with his dearly departed philandering father’s secrets. The ice starts to melt when he meets Lily at his brother’s wedding. Lily doesn’t do relationships, but has had a series of monogamous friends with benefits flings. She finds something intriguing about James and decides that she will have fun loosening up this stiff suit. I think what I loved the most about this book is James. His reputation is as some unflappable iceman, however, he loves his family dearly and will do anything to protect them. Of course, one of his father’s many secrets threaten to ruin his relationships with his family and Lily. I also loved catching up with the many family members and cannot wait for the upcoming stories in this series.
What do you get when you cross an ultra-conservative, stick up his booty guy with a carefree, fun, free-spirited gal? Yup, you guessed it. Adventures galore. Lily is determined to loosen James up. James just wants to bed Lily. Both will succeed, but it will cost them.
And let us not forget the secrets that have been festering. James is the keeper of these secrets and when they come out it will be explosive. How will all of the players deal with the aftermath?
With the exception of the zebra, this story was realistic. James is in a precarious position and Lily just wants to help. She is a very strong woman and she speaks her mind. She does not shrink back in the face of adversity. And let's not forget about Gramma. Her rock. The one person she can rely on no matter what.
This book ranks up there as my favorite in the series. I enjoyed Studmuffin Santa with the message on childhood bullying. And now this one on learning to live and love and let loose.
Best one yet!
This was my absolute favorite book of the Ponderosa Resort series. I have been waiting for James’s book from the beginning and it definitely did not disappoint. I was torn while reading this book- read it fast because it was so so good or take my time and draw out the pleasure. Well I basically could not put it down once I started. Lily was absolutely perfect for James, she was everything he didn’t realize he needed in his life. He was always so in control and button upped that he needed someone that he could be comfortable with and loosen his tie with. James was the secret keeper in his family and he was holding all this explosive information inside him and he needed a release. Even though he couldn’t tell his secrets to Lily he was able to relax a little and not feel so burdened by his secrets.
I loved the scenes with James and his siblings. It was nice to see their dynamic and I enjoyed getting a better introduction/feel for Jonathan. If you have read other books in this series you will absolutely love this book. And it definitely needs to be read!
