Strange Bounty

The bounty on this man's head tells a story of its own.

Sam Colder tracks Roland Watson, a bank robber, into the town of Alto Pinos, where an outlaw named Henry Amos is about to be hung. He arrives to find a young man who insists on shooting it out with him on the main street—in front of an audience.

But it is all performance, part of a plan to get Henry Amos free. The brains behind it belong to a mysterious woman named Victoria. She is traveling with Roland, and she has factored Sam into her scheme, which goes well beyond a simple jailbreak. Victoria is not on the side of law and order, but she and the local sheriff agree that the bounty on Roland's head tells a story—and they both think it means riches for them.

They have their agenda and it complicates Sam's life. But then, life on the frontier often gets complicated, and who thinks bringing in an outlaw to stand trial would ever be easy?
