Publisher Description
He's spent ten years wanting the wrong woman. The right one is about to stop waiting.
Dean Hayes has always fought in the shadow of his identical twin, Lincoln.
Climbing the ranks of professional MMA is his entire life, and he's never stopped long enough to build anything meaningful outside the octagon. Instead, he's spent ten years fixated on a woman who never wanted him for anything more than what she could get from him.
Holding onto that hopeless fantasy has already cost Dean enough.
Now it could cost him the woman who actually wants him.
When Josie Cunningham left her dead-end job to become Public Relations Manager for the hottest pair of fighters in the AUFC—the Hayes Twins—she had no idea how wild the ride would become.
Dean has been a thorn in her side from day one, constantly pushing her buttons…including the one right over her heart. He bends the rules, drives her crazy, and has absolutely no idea she's been fighting an attraction to him all along.
But Josie is done keeping her feelings to herself.
When she finally decides to act on them, everything changes. Dean might finally see what's been right in front of him, but letting him into her heart means giving him the power to break it.
And with the middleweight title up for grabs, all's fair in love, war…and the octagon.
Surge is the seventh book in The Beat and The Pulse, an MMA fighter romance series set in Melbourne, Australia. A determined fighter, the woman who's secretly wanted him all along, years of unrequited love, and enough chemistry to finally blow their carefully controlled relationship apart.

The Beat Goes ON
*Advanced copy given in exchange for an honest Review*
I have followed The Beat and The Pulse series from the beginning and really enjoy the whole underground fighting world Ms. Cross has built.
Josie, our PR gal for Dean and his brother Lance, has nursed a crush for a long time, but Dean is focused everywhere else while holding someone else in his heart. Bad decisions, frustration with both, and bouncing in my seat for that eye opening moment made this a great read. Told in a dual POV, Surge is hot, action packed and dramatic, and when Dean gets his head on straight, oh yeah! He is on a mission and that mission is Josie.
Surge is a stand alone read but I urge you to read the series, as characters from past books come into play in this one. From Ren and Ash to Josie and Dean, the ride has been fantastic and I look forward to more, please!
