Publisher Description
This part 2 is set in New Zealand and Antratica that deals with another threat to survival: nuclear and radiological. After years of tedious scientific research Semineaux is so convinced that his only son died as a result of accumulation deadly radioactive elements in the food chain from testing in the atmosphere before the 1963 Test Ban Treaty that he co-authors a book completed when New Zealand declared a nuclear free zone in 1986 & invited on a lecture tour. The NZ Herald quoted him on May 14, l986 that " contrasted NZ's courageous stance with Japan, where, despite Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan built nuclear reactors on volcanic islands, reneging its responsibility to its own people." This was prophetic considering Japan 2011, but in l986 his lecture in Japan was canceled. Scientists today have detected high readings of deadly strontium 90 in children's teeth from the decades ago. With nuclear power plants sitting on beach fronts and every major river in the USA, and decades of storing of deadly wastes, this is not going to go away. Still, this novel will give one a feel for the pristine beauty of NZ, and add a few laughs during the read of adventure.
