For Aaron McBain, it was just another routine job, protecting his client at an office Christmas party. Until commandos stormed the place and took a hostage. But they had the wrong woman…the very woman Aaron had started dating—under a different cover.
Risa Peters couldn't convince the gunmen she was the wrong hostage, nor could she believe her so-called "tax attorney" boyfriend wrested her away. But as the threats against her escalated, Risa and Aaron found themselves trapped in the building in the midst of a deadly conspiracy. And only her sexy new protector—a man she hardly knew but already wanted—stood between her and a bullet.

Great action and original plot!
Switched by HelenKay Dimon was a gripping, fast paced romantic suspense novel with one challenge after another for hero Aaron and heroine Risa. Who knew an innocent little office Christmas party would turn into such an explosive disaster full of betrayal and evil? It was amazing how Dimon was able to pull the good in people out of this story and by the end of the book, I felt a lot of hope and love.
Aaron is a security expert for a company that is hosting it’s office Christmas party. Risa is not supposed to be at the party but ended up in the building for another reason and ends up at the wrong place at the wrong time. She was mistakenly almost kidnapped and it is Aaron that comes to her rescue. Oh and he is also the guy that didn’t call her back after their last date. That sure was a comical aspect to the story. Add in a lovable assistant of Aaron’s named Royal and there are three characters that have your attention right away.
In Switched, Dimon does a great job of providing us an original plot, smooth writing with great action scenes and the perfect build up of romance. I found the honesty and realistic actions of her characters to be fresh and unexpected. The ending to the story was fantastic because the “who done it” part was truly a mystery to me including the reason of the plan. Switched keeps you guessing and on edge the entire time so that you can’t stop turning pages. I love that in a book!
If you are looking for a contemporary romance with clean language and a modest amount of descriptive intimacy but a powerful punch where the action and adventure awaits, give Switched a read.
