Karachi -- The market plunged on Friday due to news reports about the strain in Pak-US relations and possible downgrade in sovereign rating by Moody's. According to Taurus Securities, the KSE-100 Index plunged by 244 points to end the day at 11,943 on the back of 111m shares transacted. Most of the activity was concentrated in the Chemicals, Personal goods, Banks and Electricity sectors. The top gainers according to Index points were UPFL, IGI Insurance and Atlas Honda; likewise the top decliners were OGDC, PPL and MCB. Taurus Securities advise investors to hold onto their positions.
