Tenoch

According to myth, the Aztecs settled in the Valley of Mexico after migrating from a land in the far north, a homeland they called Aztalan, "the Place of Herons." But was this story only a myth? Could it have been a real exodus? History tells of many other such journeys by people convinced their god would guide them to a better place. Might the Aztecs have been answering just such a higher calling?

This is that story.

The epic of Tenoch and his tribe, the people of Aztalan, undertaking the hazardous journey from the far north back to their promised land, the holy land, to Teotihuacan, "the Birthplace of the Gods," a land they were forced to abandon six centuries earlier.
