Grant may have a better job!
Grant and Hanna were good friends with Win and Sara Hempstead when they’d been ‘The Garricks’, but since their divorce, they hadn’t kept in touch. So when Grant and his attorney friend, Carrie, from upstairs in his building, had been invited to dinner, Grant accepted. Win being a fellow psychiatrist told Grant that he had a patient he needed Grant to take off his hands. With a short explanation of why, Grant was apprehensive, but agreed, it was his friend and he’d do him a favor.
Lara Stewart is late for her appointment with Grant. He knows that she’s bi-polar and exhibits some strange behavior at times, so maybe this is one of those times. Finally, she does show, and Grant and Lara are in the middle of a session when Grace faints, making noise in the reception area, causing him to leave Lara in the office alone. When he returns they talked a bit more and rescheduled Lara for another week out.
Cole Hempstead is the 23 year old son of Win and Sara, he’s always been like another son to Grant, also a patient at times. So when he comes to Grant complaining about his parents, Grant tries explaining things from a parental perspective the best way he can. Cole just graduated from college and is still partying, not yet wanting to grow up and be an adult.
About 3 am Grant gets a call from Detective Reggie Rollins, telling him there’s been a serious accident, could he come to the scene? What Grant finds when he gets there is very curious to him, and he not only needs to find out the truth, but his very life depends upon it.
This is yet another GREAT book by Tom Bierdz!! Nicely done Tom! I very much enjoyed this book, though I figured out the ‘who dunnit’ fairly early, it was still a very good read as all of his books are. Way to go, Tom! Definitely worth the wait!
