Joseph Hilaire Pierre René Belloc was an Anglo-French writer and historian. He was one of the most productive writers in England in the early twentieth century. He was a well-known writer, poet, satirist, orator, sailor, soldier, man of letters, and political activist. 

In his life, he wrote many poems, essays, non-fiction literature and travel writings. But, he was best-known by his humorous, comic verses for children, and his religious poetry.

This book belongs to the group of his comic poems for children. It is a collection of short poems about animals that gives a different and very interesting description of the animals in our world. The verses are really funny and filled with imagination, giving humorous advices to children.
