The Kent Family Chronicles
I just finished reading this series for the third time in my life. I thoroughly enjoyed reading and at times couldn't put it down. This time with the power of the Internet and Wikipedia I could look up some of the old terminology John Jakes uses in his books. Words to describe the food, clothing, etc of those times. I also felt as if I got a refresher course in American history which I also enjoyed. Great novels! Will read them again in another few years!!

Going into the book blind is the best way to read this, you’ll be amazed by the characters and where the journey leads him

A good story with well developed characters. Rich in factual history, but sometimes slow.
