Short chapters, many of which end with cliffhangers, make for addictive reading, and the reverie-within-reverie sequences are vibrantly rendered games of cat and mouse. Though the descriptions run long in places, Revis (Across the Universe) gives a masterly blend of worlds familiar and new in this standalone SF mystery. Ages 14 up. (BookLife)

Fun, fast, action-packed! Beth Revis is a master of world-building and truly suspenseful storytelling. It's so nice to Revis really coming into her own as an author. I was a fan of her first series (Across the Universe), but you can see how much her writing has matured. As a reader I felt like I was being taken on a wild journey and had to work with Ella (the protagonist/narrator) to put all of the pieces of the puzzle together. THE BODY ELECTRIC really keeps you on your toes--never a dull moment. LOVED the way it ended. A wonderful standalone novel. The Body Electric is NOT to be missed!
