Publisher Description
This spinoff of The Replacement Crush featuring Amy and Toff is sure to melt your heart.
Shy bookworm Amy McIntyre is about to compete for the chance to interview her favorite author, who hasn't spoken to the press in years. The only way to win is to step out of the shadows and into the spotlight, but that level of confidence has never come easy.
The solution? A competition coach. The problem? The best person for the job is the guy she's secretly crushing on…local surfer celebrity Toff Nichols.
He’s a player. He’s a heartthrob. He makes her forget basic things, like how to breathe. How can she feel any confidence around him?
To her surprise, Toff agrees to help. And he’s an excellent teacher. Amy feels braver—maybe even brave enough to admit her feelings for him. When their late night practices become less about coaching and more about making out, Amy’s newfound confidence wavers.
But does Toff really like her or is this just another lesson?

Loved it!!
I missed the Replacement Crush so I didn't know the backstory of Amy and Toff but I need that book in my life ASAP!!
I LOVED everything about this book. Usually YA tends to be lighthearted and low in angst but high in drama. There were so many times reading this that I forgot that these were high school students. There is so much emotion that I read this book in one sitting. The strength shown by these characters sucked me in and wouldn't let go. I can't wait to go back and read The Replacement Crush!!
It was great, but fell short on some expectations.
I loved Amy and Toff’s story; they were super cute together! But I honestly was just excited to read this book to get another glimpse of Dallas and Viv. I get why it makes sense to only focus on Amy and Toff, but I needed more Dallas and Viv action. Also, what happened to Viv’s best friend Jaz???? She literally completely disappeared from the book with no mention at all and Amy just suddenly went from a friend from school to Viv’s best friend??
