Cat on Strat was my go-to when I was first learning. Couldn’t play a single chord before I picked it up but the readability and progression of this book has made it a resource that helped me get jamming in 6 months. Even all these years later, I still can come back to it for a quick refresher or some interesting yet attainable theory that constantly adds new dimensions to my playing.
It’s no substitute for actually playing and practicing but if you have plans to pick up a guitar for the first or five hundredth time, you will not regret picking this book up.
