The Collateral is a dystopian series about a young man being pushed to his limit. It contains dark themes, intense MM and MF scenes, and morally gray decisions. It's not a conventional romance, and readers expecting an easy HEA will be disappointed.

OMG!
Why am I not surprised by the way Doug spun this punishment to Dominic? The result of this whipping is that Wes did indeed, learn something important. He actually learned 2 things.
1. He learned that Doug had no problem with hurting him just for kicks and giggles.
2. He also learned that Dominic was not going to do anything about it as long as Wes wasn’t scarred permanently.
The behavior that Dominic was attributing to discipline was in fact, simple terror. The sheriff was correct, Wes would not be able to do anything to provoke that kind of punishment again. Terror would prevent that.
Having said that, should Dominic honor his word to Wes and free him in 4 years, I would be surprised if Wes stayed around. If it were me and the money I had been saving was still there, it and I would be on the next bus out of town.
