Beautifully written but a bit too fantastical
The Collector
I’ve read this book at least a dozen times since it was published. The story is intriguing and paced well. The characters are well developed and very likable. Plus, some very interesting Russian history thrown in to round it out nicely. With all that said, the most important part of any novel is how well it keeps my attention and draws me in. For as many times as I’ve read this book you’d think it would become one I’d skim through. But, nope. I still read every word because it’s just that good.
Too long
The book started out engaging. The characters were interesting and had chemistry. Then half way in to reading the book the word diarrhea started. The story could have come to the end after chapter 28. After chapter 28 I am exhausted trying to keep reading.
