Leo Tolstoy does such an incredible job at creating and showing the mind of a man unravelling. In every fathomable way, the character of Ivan Ilych’s mind, psyche, and health is falling apart. It is such a raw story and Tolstoy does such a convincing and compelling job showing what could happen to someone as unlucky as Ivan Ilych.

i really liked this story, i would only recommend it if you like sad, dreadful stories about miserable people. not joking
