5 Stars! I loved this book so much, I read it in one day with a smile on my face for most of it, looking like a crazy book lady. (Which, admittedly, I AM!) Valerie Bowman is one of my all time favorite historical romance authors, she’s fantastic! This is the 3rd book in ‘The Whitmorelands’ series and can be read as a standalone, but this is an awesome series and I recommend reading them all. The main characters are Aiden/Duke of Thornbury & Lady Jessica Whitmoreland. I didn’t like Aiden at first but not so much that I couldn’t like him when he changed for the better. Some authors make the jerk into TOO much of a jerk and then I can’t like him, even if he turns into Prince Charming himself. I loved Lady Jessica from the beginning, really from the slap heard around the ballroom! Strong female main characters are a MUST in a great romance and Jessica didn’t let the Duke get away with anything. I loved it! Enemies to friends to lovers, like this book, tend to always have the best ‘sexy times’ and Valerie Bowman did NOT disappoint on that score. It was detailed and just long enough and didn’t bore me into skimming through. I hate when the ‘sexy times’ go on and on and on. Makes me think - “Okay, we get it! Let’s move on already!”
Highly recommend this book, and the rest in the series. I really can’t wait for Lady Eliza & St.Clair’s story next! My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

This is a great read. I have been hooked to it since I started it! Two people with the help of family and a special friend, find out you don’t have to be perfect to be loved the right way. Great series.
