Publisher Description
1882—Gillian Hamilton, magic caster and Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Magic and Steam, has been stripped of his title, badge, and freedom. Gillian's true name and powers have been exposed, so now he's kept under lock and key. To make a tragedy worse, Gunner the Deadly has returned to his life out in the Wild West and has not been heard from since.
Rumors of a doctor, known only as Sawbones, with access to illegal magic have persisted into the new year. Gillian believes that violence, chaos, and certain death will befall New York City if this criminal isn't apprehended. And despite having lost his sense of purpose, Gillian knows he's the only one capable of confronting this new madman—with or without the backing of the FBMS.
But such dangers should never be undertaken alone. Gillian will need both Gunner's deadeye marksmanship, as well as his love, if he's to detain Sawbones before irreparable damage is done to the magic of his world.
Customer Reviews
Pure Love , romance and magic
The Doctor by C.S. Poe was given to me in exchange for an honest review. The Doctor is the 3rd book in the series with Gillian Hamilton and Constantine Gunner (aka Gunner the Deadly). Gillian was sent to an asylum but was told to people in his life that he quit his job. Gunner has been looking for Gillian ever since he was taken in for questioning as well as following up on leads to find out who was the architect working with Bligh. As the story unfolds the use of the quintessence and the past of Gillian and Gunner are revealed.
Poe is a master of weaving magic and history in each book in this series with the airships descriptions, the use of magic in such a disturbing way keeps you riveted and wanting to know whats next. Poe also gives you the romance between Gunner and Gillian is true and pure with the way you can hear Gunner’s words when he calls him dear (my heart just melts everytime he says it) and Gillian showing his love by acknowledging his love for Gunner is real. I absolutely loved this book and recommend everyone to read it even if it is not your favorite genre you will definitely fall in love with Gillian and Gunner.
