Publisher Description
Are you sometimes perplexed with Jesus’s teaching? Do you really want what he wants? Bestselling author Kyle Idleman reveals that the key to the abundant life Jesus promised lies in embracing His inside-out way of life.
As he examines Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount, Kyle unpacks the many counter-intuitive truths, including: brokenness is the way to wholeness, mourning is the path to blessing, and emptiness is required in order to know true fullness. Ultimately you will discover how Jesus transforms you as you begin to live out these paradoxical principles. Because only when you come to the end of yourself can you begin to experience the full, blessed, and whole life Jesus offers.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
In his newest work, Idleman (Not a Fan), teaching pastor at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Ky., examines Jesus' Sermon on the Mount and argues that Christians must learn to live as Jesus taught, regardless of how paradoxical those lessons feel in our modern world. Idleman dissects the Beatitudes, guiding Christians toward the oblique realities that underlie many of Christ's maxims. Brokenness is indeed the way to wholeness, mourning is the path to blessing, and utter emptiness has to come before true fullness can be recognized and grasped. In two parts, Idleman lays out in detail how walking with Jesus to the end of oneself is the beginning, middle, and end of finding the real life of abundance as described in the Beatitudes. Idleman's wit and contagious humor alone make this a page-turner.

Incredible
This book will make you think about your life and pull you closer to Jesus. I highly recommend!
Never been so excited about a book
So I was introduced to this book after reading the bible plan, The End of Me on the bible app. The plan was insightful so I immediately got all over the book. Unfortunately it was not out yet. Luckily iBooks had the first 63 pages so I downloaded the sample and pre-ordered it. The book has been nothing short of insightful, spirit lead, and amazing. It opens up Bible teachings in a way I have never thought of before. It was truly God inspired and a must read for every Christian struggling with yielding to God and not their own strength. I'm literally trying to get everyone I know to read it. I have a feeling it will be a Christmas gift for a lot of my family.
Well said...
Well written and challenging. Everything I look for from a book of this genre. Just happened upon Mr. Idleman and very glad I did.
