The Face-off

After getting to know a bit about Dominic 'Dom' Locke in the previous books of the Colorado Coyotes series, I was interested to meet the person that would bring this womanizing Casanova to his proverbial knees. Whoever she was, she would definitely have her work cut out for her, because this man loves women, and he loves them a lot. Leave it to author Brenda Rothert to do the job nicely and with just the perfect match in Tess Miller.

Tess might not seem like Dom's type, but she is actually just what this player needs. This strong, hardworking single mom is not taking anyone's nonsense, especially not the know it all sports star that is trying to put the moves on her. She's made of stronger stuff, and once Dom sees her in all of her roles, the tides begin to shift in a way that neither one was expecting.

I love a story with a reformed playboy, and watching Dom go from mouthy womanizer to steadfast partner really made for an enjoyable read. And getting to know Tess and the rest of her family, seeing strong supportive women making things work, was the icing on the cake.

Brenda leaves us with the perfect set-up for a follow-up story here, and I'm hoping that we get it. In the meantime, if you're a fan of Brenda's, of hockey romance, or of seeing what the love of a good partner can do, THE FACE-OFF is for you. I just loved this! It warmed my heart, made me laugh, and gave a bit of suspense too. Basically, you get a whole lot of book for your buck lol. I absolutely loved Dom (goodness I was in tears laughing sometimes at the things he says!). He completely went above and beyond when he met Tess & her family. How can you not love a guy who turned a not good situation into a new found family ❤️ Love this series!!
