What happens when Gaia—a.k.a. Mother Nature—finally meets Mr. Right…but she absolutely can't tell him who she really is?
I have had it with everyone today! This world is full of fools and mortals, and not a single one of them is listening to me! I told every paranormal that never revealing their supernatural powers to humans is paramount—once humans get a whiff of our abilities, it's game over; everyone wants a miracle. Well fine, if they want to keep breaking rules, they can handle the fallout without me. I'm on vacation.
I really wanted some time alone, to go to the Puerto Rican rain forest and get back to basics. Commune with nature, consider my next move, give everyone time to miss me and realize that I'm right (as always). I never expected to find a handsome surgeon scouring the jungle for natural remedies. It sounds like he needs my help. Maybe I'll just whip up some miracles for him. He's going to be so pleased!
Turns out Dr. Aaron Samuels wasn't so pleased after all. In fact, he was rather furious. But I can still fix this. Doesn't he know who I am?! Oh, wait, of course he doesn't—being mortal complicates everything! But if I'm going to get my guy, maybe it's time to tell him the truth…

Mother Nature finds her soulmate in this mythic but oddly juvenile contemporary rom-com from Chase (Tiger's Night Out). Goddesses Fate and Karma are determined to find their high-strung sister Gaia, the goddess of the universe also known as Mother Nature, a match, hoping that falling in love will help to mellow her out. Aaron Samuels, a cardiac surgeon forced into early retirement by a medical condition, hopes to continue his work outside the operating room by discovering a new heart medicine in the Puerto Rican rainforest. When Gaia flees to the same rainforest for some peace and quiet, she and Chase fall in love, but their relationship is hampered by Gaia's refusal to break her own rule and reveal her true nature to a mortal. Despite being the creator of the universe, Gaia is surprisingly uninformed about human lives and love affairs, giving her story a coming-of-age quality. Mythology buffs will enjoy the supporting cast of minor gods and muses, but readers looking for a more mature romance will grow frustrated by the heroine's childish antics.
Great Ending to a Great Series
The last book of a series I have long loved makes this a bittersweet review. The quirky cast we’ve come to know and love join together to help Mother Nature with the mother of all problems- falling in love. With a healthy balance of snark, sass, and sweet, we get to fall in love alongside the best of company. I am going to miss this series so much. Hopefully, we will see Ashlyn Chase bring a new world for us to love and enjoy to life soon.
Thank you to Ashlyn Chase, Sourcebooks, and NetGalley for allowing me the chance to read this story and share my honest thoughts and opinions with others.
