Adrien English isn't really a detective, he's a bookseller and mystery writer who has a knack for attracting real life mischief and mayhem -- much to the displeasure of his sexy, sometimes-boyfriend, closeted homicide detective Jake Riordan.
When bookstore assistant Angus falls afoul of a Satanic cult, Adrien falls afoul of Jake -- but despite the fact that his amateur sleuthing is playing hell with his love life, Adrien can't help but delving into this case of kooks, cults, devil worship, and human sacrifice.

Adrien - What the hell?
Adrien “What the Hell”?
This 3rd installment of the AE series left me with a feeling that Adrein and Jakes relationship was finally set adrift. Too much to say without spoiling the read so simply stated – Adrien finally realizes that he is worth so much more than what Jake has OR should I say is willing to offer. Although I feel for Jake, and know he does – love Adrien, his play on Adrien’s emotions was unacceptable and quite honestly cruel. I was so angry with Jake and just wanted to wrap my arms around Adrien.
Now, mom “Lisa” was at her best. With each new installment, I grow to love and respect Lisa even more. She love’s her son, and truly wants only the best for him. Adrien loves his mother; he definitely wants to strangle her at times but he loves his mom and you see that shine through more and more.
Meet the Dautens – what a treat!!! I love the new blended family. The sisters are just what Adrien needs.
What was PRICELESS? – Adrien realizing how important the bonding moment Lisa wanted for him and Dad Daueten was – and like the son that he is, made his mom very happy but the end of the day…Adrien bonding with his extended family made him happy too.
