Marlo is landed with this a strange but compassionate arrangement, fashioned to give the child's mother respite from his care. Sully's obsession with an imaginary friend in the ancient oak forests of Glengarriff slowly unveils its terrible secrets - a 400-hundred-year-old tragedy reveals itself.

Hope and heart, family ties and historical bonds

This book was my first in Irish Historical fiction. 2 time periods woven together with magic and imagery. While the language wasn’t always easy to understand - the tenor and spirit easily distinguished the story. A bit of mystery mashed up with a story of long family ties and family secrets, I really wanted to pick this book up again and again .
