In the second Witches of Echo Park novel, one coven must keep the world in balance and stand against a rising darkness.
Lyse MacAllister did not step into an easy role when she took over as master of the Echo Park coven of witches after her great-aunt Eleanora’s death. As she begins to forge the bonds that will help her lead her sisters, she struggles to come to terms with her growing powers. And she soon faces a deadly new threat. A group of fanatics intent on bringing about the end of times has invaded the witches Council—but the Council is turning a blind eye to the danger growing in its midst.
Only one witch is prophesied to be able to stop the encroaching darkness. And if Lyse and her blood sisters are to have any chance at protecting all we know from being lost forever, they must keep her safe—no matter what the cost…
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
The magical war hinted at in The Witches of Echo Park gains momentum in this intense second Echo Park Coven urban fantasy. Lyse MacAllister rushed back to L.A.'s bohemian Echo Park neighborhood at the request of her dying grandmother to find she'd inherited the role of master of the local coven. Lyse, who's completely untrained in magic, has to learn fast and earn the trust of her coven blood sisters, because a dangerous entity called the Flood is coming. The Greater Council, which oversees covens around the world, hasn't taken the threat seriously. But Lyse's coven, which includes the last Dream Keeper, and Lyse herself, a magical hybrid developing powers in several disciplines, are prime targets for the Flood's forces. Benson ramps up the tension by orders of magnitude, forcing Lyse and her coven to split up as they attempt to ward off the Flood's agents. As blood sisters travel from Echo Park to Rome and Russia, multiple plot lines will keep readers hopping, and the stage is set for major fireworks to come.

Looking forward to another!
Suspenseful and I could not put it done until I finished reading the entire book. Amber Benson is a terrific writer and story teller. I highly recommend this book.
