Can be 14 chapters, not 23
These books have one theme—one abusive father, three abused sons, and two abused women: mother of the 3 sons runs away never comes back; second wife, also abuses and also leaves. The 3 books I read, revolved around the 3 boys trying to move on, but cannot because the abusive father who dies in the book, becomes a psychological goat, still hunting the brothers with the abuse!
Everything new themes with new characters, the “the abusive ghost” took over all and everything with the new characters, enabling the “sons” to move on. Making it unbearably repetitive, killing the interest in the story!
